Last month Funny Women set the world record for the most jokes being told by women on social media in an hour. This challenge was a collaborative effort combining the Funny Women community and social media app, eva. We rallied together female comedians to deliver as many jokes as they possibly could in hour, and the team behind the eva app provided the perfect platform for quick uploading to a channel made just for us!
The challenge to set a digital world record seemed pretty daunting, but we are over the moon to announce that we set the world record with over 1,005 punchlines uploaded under the hashtag #evajoke! Women contributed from all over the world, ranging from trying out brand new material to telling jokes from joke books, snappy one liners, to five minute sets on the night!
This was a brilliant achievement for everyone who was involved and contributed, and a milestone for women in comedy.
So without further ado, we will declare the winners of the competition, with the best jokes that made us properly belly laugh on the night!
@emilyrose98 wins the grand prize of £150 worth of Benefit goodies! @betterussell wins second prize, funny friend membership, and finally @vickyormerod wins a free workshop of her choice.
