We launched the Comedy Shorts Award last year to celebrate the wealth of film-making talent creating online content.
The award reflects the power of the online comedy viewer and aims to help the winning submission gain a foothold in an over-saturated environment.
We are delighted to announce our partnership with The Huffington Post UK, who will be showcasing the top 10 shortlisted films on their website. Brogan Driscoll, Senior Lifestyle Editor at The Huffington Post UK, is heading up the judging panel, which includes Laura Risearm (Assistant Editor of Comedy, Channel 4), Karen Rosie (Former BBC Comedy and Entertainment Producer), Al Stary (TV Production Manager), Nia Childs (The Smalls Film Festival Producer), and Michaela Coel (Writer of Channel 4’s Chewing Gum).
The winner will receive £500 cash, £250 of Benefit Cosmetics and their film shown to a TV and comedy industry audience at the Funny Women Awards Final on 23rd September, Kings Place, London.
We are pleased to say that this award category just gets bigger and better, with more entries this year than ever before. The Longlist will be announced very soon, so watch this space for all the fantastically talented female filmmakers!
