For the past few years, Funny Women has been proud to support the charity Refuge, it is in fact our Charity of the Year. We’d like to take a quick serious moment to remind you of their Christmas appeal this year and how you could help.
Refuge supports more than 3,000 women and children every day, and wants to make sure that all of them have the best Christmas possible.
There are two ways you can donate:
1. Buy a Christmas present for a woman or child who has escaped from domestic violence
Refuge is working with John Lewis to make this possible. Go to the John Lewis Gift List, make a purchase and enter the special code 609505. To preserve confidentiality, all gifts will be converted into vouchers used to repurchase the chosen items. The gift list is open until Christmas Eve (December 24th) to ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy a present this year.
2. Buy a Refuge parcel
There are a few different kinds: an Emergency parcel, a special Children’s parcel, a Safety and Independence parcel and a Law parcel.

Your gift and your donation go directly to women and children at Refuge’s centres across the UK. All proceeds from the 2014 Funny Women awards went to Refuge, and we continue to raise funds and support the charity throughout the year.
