Gemma Whelan has long been a household name, after appearing in West End shows like One Man Two Guvnors and gripping TV dramas like Game of Thrones. She's also a past Funny Women Awards winner, having scooped our Variety Award back in 2010! We love Gemma's work and are particularly excited about her next appearance in the latest play from acclaimed playwright Philip Ridley (Pitchfork Disney, Mercury Fur).
A breath-taking piece of storytelling charting a young girl's quest to build herself the perfect family, Dark Vanilla Jungle is a biting commentary on the abuses of power in a patriarchal society. The show won a Scotsman Fringe First Award for its Edinburgh premiere last year, and comes to Soho Theatre from 25 March to 13 April following a UK tour.
