Improv Asylum will be holding auditions for an upcoming sketch and improv revue at the Tivoli Theatre, Dublin on Monday, January 27th from 6pm-9pm. Callbacks will be Tuesday, 28 January at 6:00 pm. You will need to be available for rehearsals from Monday 3 March and previews will begin mid-March.

If you are a man or a woman with a strong background in improvisation then Improv Asylum want you – particularly if you have additional professional experience in theatre, sketch writing or a musical background (if this is the push you need to improve your sketch writing skills check out our Workshop Weekend). You can request an audition by emailing your headshot and CV to director@improvasylum.com by Tuesday, 21 January.

The Boston based comedy theatre, Improv Asylum, has been around for over 15 years featuring improvisation and sketch comedy in over 10,000 shows to over 2 million people. Improv Asylum wants everyone to have a good time when they see a show: "In everything we do, we strive to provide the best comedic theater experience."

Our founder and executive producer Lynne Parker is a big fan of the comedy scene in Boston, having taken part in a writing panel at the Women in Comedy Festival in March last year. Lynne returned to the UK hoping Boston comedy would find a place on our side of the pond, having said: "There are strong similarities between the US and the UK with female comedy…Most of what we saw would easily translate to UK audiences and I really hope we can attract some of these women over to the UK to perform some time soon."

We can't wait to see the new Improv Asylum team!
