You might have heard of the Feral Pigeons – aka. Jasmine Jones, Benedict Hopper and Leonie Hill. The trio have been everywhere from Latitude to the Leicester Square Theatre with their riotous blend of surreal humour and larger-than-life characters. We’re delighted to see that they’re bringing their acclaimed show, The Sisters: Return to the Isle of Queef! to the Hen & Chickens Theatre this December for a short, one-off revival.
The magical Isle of Queef is under threat – the Wicked Queen Madame M’zelle has vowed to stamp out happiness everywhere, forcing resident joymongers Evelyn and Prudence Petticoat to flee for their lives. Transported to London via a storm of conceptual dance, can the sisters make it back home to Queef with only a song in their hearts and a boy wizard by their side?
Expect a medley of original songs created in collaboration with Ruth Wilson, tin-foil lightning and a decapitated head called Paul, as the group present a story inspired by traditional tales and told for contemporary times. The original cast and writing team for the show featured none other than Funny Women Awards 2012 winner Gabby Best – a definite reason to make it along!
“Like walking into a private joke, then realizing you’re in on the gag” – Rebecca Burn-Callander of The Daily Telegraph
“Absolutely bloody hilarious, your face will hurt from laughing” – Londonist
“I fell in love with its insane humour” – What’s On The Fringe
You can catch The Sisters: Return to the Isle of Queef! at the Hen & Chickens Theatre from 3rd – 7th December. The show starts at 7:30pm, with an additional Saturday matinee on the 7th at 3pm.
