If you need any convincing to buy Jennifer Saunder’s new autobiography ‘Bonkers: My Life in Laughs’ (what’s wrong with you?!) or are simply a fan then this is the interview for you. Today from 12 noon you can watch Clare Balding interview Jennifer Saunders at the Southbank Centre book launch on a live stream and then on demand. Or you can have a sneak peek here of the best bits!

Clare, whose own autobiography, Jennifer told Decca Aitkenhead, was instrumental in inspiring her decision to write the book: "Oh fuck it, I can write a book. I like Clare Balding's book, Dawn [French] has written a book, and I just thought, I'm going to write a book. It'll be fine. I thought, just do it, just do it, I'm just going to do it. I'm finally going to actually do it, and it doesn't have to be perfect and it doesn't have to be a Booker-winning bloody thing. It just has to be what I want to say, and it has to be all right. That's all it has to be: all right."

The autobiography is more than all right. Watch the woman behind successful comedy creations such as Jennifer Marsh in ‘Girls on Top’, Bolly swilling Edina Monsoon from ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ and a host of hilarious characters from all her sketches with comedy partner Dawn French as French and Saunders share with Clare some of the best anecdotes in the book – including her close up view of Dolly Parton’s tattooed bosoms, how she persuaded Dawn French to become a comedy act with her and working with Joanna Lumley on ‘Absolutely Fabulous.’

‘Bonkers: My Life in Laughs’ by Jennifer Saunders is out now from Penguin Books. You can watch the full length version of Clare Balding's interview with Jennifer Saunders HERE!
