This Friday marks the return of The London Irish Comedy Festival, bringing with it yet another fantastic line up of both established and emerging Irish comedy talent. The festival will be packing in comedy action from Friday the 11th of October until Sunday the 13th October at the London Irish Centre.
There is something for every one, young and old. On Saturday David Burke's children's show 'Captain Gingerbeard' will tell the tale of Captain Gingerbeard from Dingle, which Three Weeks describes as “simply adorable.” He wasn't always a captain – but he has always had a gingerbeard!
The festival also plays host to Jarlath Regan's recording of his popular podcast 'An Irishman Abroad' in which he discusses life and the experience of living abroad with well-known Irish artists.
Winner of both the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year and the Musical Comedy Awards, Adandoman will be performing musical sketches, supported by actor and writer Maeve Higgins and David McSavage with Funny Women Awards 2008 finalist Grainne Maguire Mcing the entertainment.
On Sunday there's another chance to catch Jarlath Regan, this time hosting Stand up & Answers, a new table quiz based comedy show. Time Out Live Award for Best Stand up winner Andrew Maxwell is headlining Sunday night with support from Barry Murphy and Paddy Cullivan on MC duties.
A percentage of the profits from the Festival go to support the work of the London Irish Centre.
