Finally the day has arrived! Tonight Leicester Square Theatre will play host to the Funny Women Awards where we will see the fantastic comedy talent who have made it to become the 13 Funny Women Awards finalists.

Hosted by Funny Women Awards 2008 winner Katherine Ryan and with a judging panel that features ‘Touched…Like a Virgin’ star Olivia Lee and Shooting Star Angelos Epithemiou amongst great comedy industry names the tension is high!

We will also find out who will win the Funny Women Best Show award from our jaunt up to Edinburgh. In the running is Vicky Arlidge with her show ‘Mum Can You Wipe My Bum’, Alex Maher’s ‘Hope and Gloria’ and Abigoliah Schuman’s show ‘Subtle’. Abigoliah will sadly not be joining us tonight due to the commute from New York to London being a bit of a trek. But she sent us a message about her excitement over being nominated: “it really is an honour…it means a lot to me because I feel it brings me closer to my personal goal, world domination.”

It isn’t all about those who love the limelight. The Comedy Writing Award is to be announced also, will the winning script be Cassie Pope’s ‘Rocket Men’, Helen Cripp’s ‘Birth Mother’ or writer duo Christina Carty and Marina Niel with ‘Filthy’?

We find out tonight!
