Athena Kugblenu, Thanyia Moore and Natalie Roberts are three talented ladies. As well as being incredible comedians in their own right, they’ve joined forces to create comedy promoters Black Bird Comedy. After the success of their first few nights in June, they're back this Friday in South East London's White Hart Hotel.  Simply the Jest offers an evening of brilliant entertainment from some talented comics, and best of all, it’s completely free!

There aren’t many London comedy nights run by women – and ones run by black comedians are few too. Black Bird Comedy’s aim is to create a unique and diverse night of entertainment, and promises to be a major part of New Cross’s growing entertainment and social scene. Simply the Jest promises a warm, friendly audience and a unique line-up, featuring semi-professional comedians alongside fresh and undiscovered talent.

The next nights are this Friday 2nd August and Friday 16th August. Keep yourselves posted though – Simply the Jest is fast becoming a permanent fixture, running on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month, and each of the three members of Black Bird Comedy will be taking it in turns to showcase their fantastic hosting skills.

You can catch the next Simply the Jest on Friday 2nd August at The White Hart Hotel, 183 New Cross Road. Doors are at 7pm for an 8pm start. For further details click HERE.
