If stand up comedy isn’t an ambition of yours but you’re still in the competitive mood there are yet more competitions at Funny Women to enter!
Feel you have a knack for comedy but your talent lies more in your writing than delivery? Then the Funny Women Comedy Writing Award, in association with The Comedy Unit and The Huffington Post is for you. Submissions are welcome until 31 August and you could win a £500 script option fee for a 12 month development period, with three weeks intensive mentoring to complete your 30 minute script with access to a professional script editor.
If you have the comedy writing and performing all sewn up, or you know someone who does, perhaps our Best Show Award is for you. We are looking for original shows written and performed by women. You can nominate a show you have seen or nominate your own show. All you have to do is tell us about it and we will come to see it and judge for ourselves.
Shows that are shortlisted will be invited to the Funny Women Awards Final at the Leicester Square Theatre where the winner will be announced. The prize for Best Show is £500 courtesy of WeGotTickets.
If it’s not yourself or a show that cracks you up but one of your friends then we want to know about them too! You can enter your friend into the Real Funny Women Award to win two VIP tickets to the Funny Women Awards Final in London plus pre drinks reception at The Groucho Club, a stay for two in a fancy London hotel courtesy of Benefit Cosmetics and a Benefit Cosmetics ‘Pamper day’.
