Just in time for summer Funny Women will be by the sea in Brighton for Sex, Lies and Lots of Cake at Brighton Fringe. On the 25th May a panel will discuss how female comics come up with material, why so many women in comedy focus on writing and production over performing and how to even get started in comedy with a host of stellar panellists.
The panel includes names from all corners of the comedy industry. Writer, journalist and 2012 Funny Women Awards finalist Viv Groksop will be chairing, with fellow panellists including Hils Jago, founder of Soho comedy club Amused Moose, Huffington Post Comedy Editor Andrea Mann and septuagenarian stand up Lynn Ruth Miller, as well as Funny Women founder Lynne Parker.
This year the Brighton Fringe will play host to many comedy shows. If you see any you like, why not nominate them for the Funny Women Best Show Award? It’s even better if we can get to see it in time to see for ourselves! There's a £500 prize courtesy of WeGotTickets for the winning show.
The show must be an original piece of work and devised by a woman and at least an hour long. If it fits this criteria then be it solo, stand-up, sketch, play or cabaret we'd like to come and see it. You can nominate shows HERE.
Closing date for nominations is 31st August 2013.
