Kristina Wong has been fighting the good fight for Mother Nature from a young age. In her critically acclaimed comedy, Going Green the Wong Way, Kristina relays her true-life adventures as an eco-warrior and a tireless missionary of recycling. Her life-long quest to save the planet includes confrontational 6th grade science projects and exploding vehicles powered by vegetable oil, all relayed in a hilariously madcap yet informative hour-long show. Can we really live a sustainable lifestyle in today’s world? And is there a right way – or a Wong way – to do so?

As a solo performer, writer, activist and speaker, Kristina Wong’s body of work is as varied as it is impressive. Her background in education, art for social change and community work informs her performances – which are as thought-provoking as they are funny. She has toured all over the world with five solo shows and one ensemble play, performing everywhere from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to the Comedy Central Workspace, and was awarded the Creative Capital Award in Theater and a Creation Fund from the National Performance Network to create her third full-length solo show, Wong Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, which examines the prevalence of mental health issues among Asian American women.

Kristina also facilitates workshops and lectures and is a freelance writer for publications that include Playgirl Magazine, PBS and Jezebel. You can read more about her work on her website HERE, or follow her on Twitter @mskristinawong.

“There are hundreds of ways to go wrong when attempting to go green, but going Wong can only ever be right.” – San Francisco Bay Guardian

You can catch Going Green the Wong Way from tonight until Friday (6-8 March) at 9pm at Contact, Oxford St, Manchester. For more info and to book tickets, click HERE.

Kristina Wong will also be performing a 30 minute excerpt of the show at 8pm on Monday 11th March. You can see her, along with a line-up of other guests, at Bethnal Green Working Men's Club, 42-46 Pollard Row, London. For more info and to book tickets, click HERE.
