Timed to coincide with the launch of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in 3d on Friday 14th December, Women's Aid have created the world's first 3d advert which the audience can 'edit' in real time. Using steroscopic technology, viewers will be able to change what they see by alternately closing each eye.
In one view, the audience see a woman preparing dinner in her kitchen with a fruit basket of oranges, but close the other eye and the fruit basket is filled with apples, and the woman is being beaten by her partner.
Marai Larasi, co-chair of Women’s Aid, said: "The technology used to make this advert allows the viewer to choose whether they see the abuse that is happening behind closed doors in a relationship. The audience will have the ability to shut out the abuse and pretend it's not happening, or they can choose to view the reality of living with domestic violence."
