The British Comedy Awards nominees were announced last night, and there definitely were a few surprises.
In the running for Best Sitcom are Hunderby, Twenty Twelve, Rev and The Thick of It, while Best Female Television Comic could go to Jo Brand, Sarah Millican, Nina Conti or Sue Perkins. Best Comedy Breakthrough Artist is between David Rawle, Morgana Robinson, Nina Conti and Seb Cardinal & Dustin Demri-Burns.
Most surprising, and a British Comedy Awards first, is the Best TV Comedy Actress category which sees Olivia Coleman nominated twice, one for Rev and once for Twenty Twelve, alongside Jessica Hynes, also in Twenty Twelve and Rebecca Front, from The Thick of It.
