Fans of Miranda’s award winning television series can now get an insiders’ glimpse into herreal life with the launch of her new book, 'Is It Just Me?' which is published on 11th October.

Miranda debunks the myth that fame comes easily and makes light of her mistakes in her comforting ‘I’m-a-couple-of-years-older-than-you-and-hate-boarding-school-too’ sort of way.  Miranda recounts the many awkward moments of her life and offers us ‘chummy’ advice from her ‘Miran-ual.’

For those of us brought up on Diana Annuals and the ‘Cathy and Claire’ pages, this book is a breath of fresh air coupled with the literary equivalent of a sensible pair of shoes.  Speaking about the book Miranda says, ‘I’m practically an expert having made every mistake going, and it will be a pleasure simply to get these weighty issues off my chest.  Or issues off my weighty chest. Either works’.

Crowned Queen of Comedy in 2010, Miranda’s philosophy is that life would be a whole lot more fun if we only took ourselves less seriously and stopped trying to impress.  It’s great to see somebody so successful debunking the ‘celebrity’ lifestyle and commanding us to be ourselves.  After all this is the very essence of comedy – humour is to be found around every corner of life and she is our guide.

Miranda has been likened to a modern-day Joyce Grenfell, who also took up the pen to pass on her philosophy of life, and she embraces the angst of today’s appearance conscious, cyber charged world with old school charm.  Such fun!

“This is pure, unadulterated, totally genius, Miranda. A cult (would religion be too weighty a word?) must surely follow, where can we get the T-shirt?” www.redonline.co.uk
