When asked how she feels about being in the final, Katie said:
'In 2010, I was persuaded to enter the Funny Women competition as a dare. The Liverpool heat was my first ever gig, and up until about an hour before I went on stage, I'd convinced myself I wasn't doing it. I was quite a late-comer to comedy, and without this competition I would never have had the balls (quite literally) to try it. Of course my family and friends though I was having a mid-life crisis, but the jokes on them. I'll be coming to the final- they'll probably think I've gone to Lidl for some Garlic Sausage.'
