This is what Gabby Best had to say when we asked her to tell us a bit about herself and her alter ego Marijana…

'I've been scrawling jokes on napkins / talking to myself in various voices since 1989… but finally decided to concentrate on comedy properly last year. Since then, I've performed at Latitude Festival, with the Feral Pigeons and The Pleasance Courtyard – Edinburgh, with NewsRevue (a show listed in the British Comedy Guide's Top 25 of The Fringe). The first round of the competition marked my second gig on my tod, so I am delighted to have made it to the final with Marijana… one of five women currently sharing a squalid bedsit in my brain.

When these five are asleep I occasionally nip out to do some deadly serious acting ; with roles for Nabokov, Rogues Gallery… and a pivotal 8 lines for ITV, among others.

Marijana would like you all to know that she is ‘much more than just a sexy-bomb’, and will continue to make the world a more sensual and attractive place… one pelvic floor exercise at a time.

Thankyou to Funny Women for doing what you do, it’s been a total pleasure.'
