Officially into the last weekend of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Funny Women team are starting to expel sighs of relief that we have all managed to survive the month! Over the past few weeks Edinburgh has really become our home and going back will probably take some acclimatisation.

For every Friday we have been in Edinburgh, Funny Women has hosted Comedy Cocktail Hour at Harvey Nichols, Edinburgh. Bringing a different line up of fantastic female comedy every week, the cocktail hour took over the extremely chic ‘Forth Floor,’ i.e. the one with the amazing view! Brilliant acts such as Ria Lina and Katherine Ryan performed to audiences to a superb response and last night was no different. Taking to the floor last night were Funny Women Awards Winner 2011 lara A king, the wonderful Viv Groskop, the lovely Ria Lina and special guests Lady Sings it Better!

A late addition to our line up, Lady Sings it Better are a magnificent singing group that perform famous songs written and performed by male artists, with a twist of female empowerment. Hits such as Queen’s ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ and Peter Andre’s ‘Mysterious Girl’ received the treatment at last night’s affair, much to the delight of the Harvey Nichols audience. The Funny Women team are honoured to have had Lady Sings it Better perform at our last Harvey Nichols Cocktail Comedy Hour of this year’s Fringe and wholeheartedly recommend you see their show in the last couple of days of the festival. Funny Women would also like to thank the extremely brilliant team at Harvey Nichols, Edinburgh, who have all been a treat with to work with every Friday this month!

Even though the month is steadily coming to a close, there is still time to catch our very own lara A king in her 4 star reviewed show 'People Pleaser'! Tickets can be bought from either the Assembly Box Office of online.
