There are some acts who are just lovely to listen to and make even the hardest hitting material sound like a breezy ‘walk in the park’. Katherine is just one such funny woman who we’ve loved since she won the Awards in 2008.
Having a baby and dealing with divorce have not diminished her sunshiny style and, if anything, makes her almost impossibly positive in a potential wasteland of self-deprecation and sorrow! Katherine has battled cancer and suffers from lupus – what’s not to smile about?!
Last year Katherine’s show was a ‘set piece’ with glitzy costumes and visiting relatives. This year, she takes the stage alone for a full hour – it’s clearly mapped out but has space for the wonderful riffing that she is so capable of.
This show is Katherine’s ‘rite of passage’ and she thoroughly deserves to get her smiley face on to all the panel shows with this achievement under her belt.
The material is varied, a little bit naughty but always nice.
What she talked about: being Canadian, bears, positivity, kids.
