It is the Wednesday of the last week of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and a lot of us seem to be steadily spiralling into states of delirium as the long days and even longer nights take their toll.
Yesterday, however, proved an interesting day for the Funny Women team and for lara A king! For many years lara has known the lovely ladies from Fascinating Aida and together they gave the audience a wonderful surprise at the end of lara’s set when they came to see ‘People Pleaser’ yesterday afternoon!
Fascinating Aida is currently performing at 6.30 pm every night until Sunday 26th August at the Gilded Balloon Teviot. To catch lara featuring on their infamous tune ‘Cheap Flights’ click HERE.
Reaching the end of the month here at the Fringe can be signified by many things: tiredness, flippancy to rain and the frequency of which it makes an appearance and an insatiable craving for vegetables that your body can hardly comprehend. However, the most prevalent sign seems to be my poor bank balance. At the Fringe I feel like I have been sucked into a parallel world where it is alright to treat cash points like interminable money trees. With everyone so busy, there is little time to think twice about spending six pounds on a ‘gourmet’ halloumi and falafel wrap even though back home the thought would send you into a state of shock.
Fear not, because ever so conveniently the Funny Women team finally decided to try out the infamous Mosque Kitchen, in the last week. Kicking ourselves, we sat down to a fantastically cheap meal that was full of taste and even included VEGETABLES! Just one of the lessons learned for next year, one of which I’m sure my purse would appreciate.
Lara will be performing ‘People Pleaser’ today at 2pm in the Bosco Tent, Assembly George Square Gardens. Tickets are available on a 2 for 1 offer at the Assembly Box Office and can also be bought online. With a guest appearance from Fascinating Aida, you never know who may make a guest appearance!
