As the Funny Women Awards 2012 are well underway for us, it seems that they are not the only awards that are to be celebrated this side of the Thames!

Having just arrived here at Funny Women HQ in lovely leafy Richmond, I have been astounded by the vast array of quaint, charming shops that align the nooks and crannies of the winding streets. Lunchtime has suddenly become an event; an experience as I abandon my Boots meal deal and head toward the bright lights of quality delicatessen dining.

The Alberts Deli, our local deli and go-to destination for curing our tummy grumbles and coffee deprivation, has won the Regional Final of Olive Et Al’s Deli of the Year 2012!! Here at Funny Women we are not in the least bit surprised as ardent fans of their fresh homemade food! This fantastic achievement has helped place Richmond firmly on the foodie map of Britain after being selected as one of only TEN Regional finalists after HUNDREDS of deli’s were nominated nationwide!

We are extremely proud of and excited for our neighbour’s on Worple Way and are cheering them on wholeheartedly for the final of the competition in September!
