Funny Women is absolutely delighted that Angie Le Mar is back on the stage with her first ever one woman show at central London's Soho Theatre and this time you’ll see her as you’ve never seen her before.
Wear your best high heels and get along to support the fabulous Angie perfoming ‘In My Shoes’, a character-based comedy that she has been busy writing this year. Funny Women was lucky to see a taster of this when she hosted one of our Awards heats at the Leicester Square Theatre earlier this year.
The limitless Angie, who has worked in radio and television and is renowned for her stand-up, is now taking a new leap with this show under the direction of Olivier Award nominee Femi Elufowoju Junior, who takes her performance right to comedy’s edge. Angie acts out the highs and lows of six distinct and eccentric characters whose lives are intricately woven.
As well has conquering the UK comedy scene, making history in the London’s West End with the first ever sell out show by a black female comedian, Angie was also the first Black British performer to storm the stage of Harlem’s legendary Apollo Theatre in the USA. She has appeared on the BBC’s 'The real McCoy', Channel 4’s 'Get Up, Stand Up' and most recently appeared as a panelist on 'Loose Women'.
You do not want to miss her first ever one woman show ‘In My Shoes’ where she takes her devastatingly funny humor and her incredible acting skills and mixes them together for night of comedy genius.
‘To call Angie Le Mar just a comedienne is to limit her giant talent’ The Scotman
