I feel very lucky to be in the final. A colleague won a free entry to a Funny Women Workshop in a pub quiz raffle earlier this year. He was clearly not eligible and it fell to me to represent the company. I then won a picnic hamper in the raffle at the Funny Women Awards heat in Richmond, so I am really hoping for a raffle-based selection process in the final.
In terms of my act, er, let’s just say it is an exaggerated version of myself. I studied Biology and majored in parasitology… big mistake. I came away from university with a BSc and PTSD. I later did a degree in psychology which didn’t help. Now I just understand why I can’t forget. I have written some books on golf and football, but work as an analyst and appreciate the finer functions of excel.
I am a gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian that eats fish but not bottom dwellers (like prawns).
I love the word “gigging”. Never thought I would ever get to say: “I did a gig in Hackney last night”. Really pleased to be in the final….but I did have other plans that night.
