Forget the Lambeth Walk, the most important walk this weekend in London will be The Moon Walk. And no, it won’t be hosted by the late and great Michael Jackson (although wouldn’t that be the most incredible PR stunt the world’s ever seen?) but far funnier (and probably less strange) the wonderful Suzy Bennett, Andi Osho and Miss London, all previous winners of the Funny Women competition. What a great way to kick off such an important night of fundraising and if there’s one thing that laughter gives you it’s energy – we’ve no doubt this incredible line-up will provide mile upon mile of laughter fuel to keep the walkers walking.
The Moon Walk has raised nearly £2million already and you can still register your interest. Go to http://www.walkthewalk.org/Home
After a great start to the Funny Women Awards last Sunday we headed north for our second heat in Liverpool at Unity Theatre this Thursday, hosted by the unique and irrepressible Scottish comedienne and writer Janey Godley, as part of the Liverpool Comedy Festival. The high standard is continuing to surprise and delight us and we’re very excited about Birmingham and Manchester next week.

If you’re in Brighton tonight head down to Caroline of Brunswick at the Fringe – one of last year’s fantastic finalists Marie Vagen will be starring in the last showing of Parental Guidance with two other comediennes, Alison Leitch and Kerry Herbert – the show has received some great reviews so far. Here’s one from The Latest: “Offering razor sharp comedy, some very dark humour and probably the most likeable discussion of cat shit you’ll ever hear, these funny women are a must-see. Hilarious!”
